Vistora Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 August 2026  |  Last updated: 3 August 2026
Privacy summary: Vistora is a local-first desktop video editor. Project media and editing operations remain on your device. Vistora does not require an account and does not include advertising, behavioural analytics, or remote telemetry in the Microsoft Store release covered by this policy.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Vistora, a Windows desktop video-editing application distributed through the Microsoft Store, accesses and handles information when you install and use the application. It applies to the Microsoft Store release of Vistora covered by the effective date above.

2. Publisher and Data Controller

Publisher and data controller: Prerak Mehta, an individual trading as “The Streamic”

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Privacy and support contact: thestreamic@gmail.com

“The Streamic” is a trading name used by Prerak Mehta and is not represented in this policy as a separate company or legal entity.

3. Local Project and Media Processing

Vistora processes video, audio, image, project, proxy, cache, transcription, and export files locally on your device. Files that you import, create, edit, or export are not uploaded to Vistora or to a third-party cloud service by the application.

You choose the files and folders that Vistora accesses through actions such as importing media, opening a project, recording content, choosing cache locations, and exporting a finished file.

4. Information Vistora Does Not Collect or Transmit

The Microsoft Store release covered by this policy does not collect or transmit:

Vistora does not sell, rent, or disclose personal information to advertisers and does not use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling.

5. Device Permissions and User-Initiated Recording

If you choose a recording feature, Vistora may request access to your microphone, camera, screen, or local files. Access occurs only when you initiate the relevant feature or grant the corresponding Windows permission. Recordings are processed and stored locally. Vistora does not automatically upload recordings.

You can review or revoke applicable permissions through Windows Settings. Revoking a permission may prevent the corresponding recording or import feature from working.

6. Local Export and Media Components

Vistora uses locally packaged media-processing components, including FFmpeg, to analyse, transcode, generate proxies, and export media. During export, Vistora may use a local loopback connection on your device. A loopback connection communicates within your computer and is not an internet upload.

Machine-learning features included in this release operate using models packaged with the application and process supported media locally. Vistora does not send your media to a third-party artificial-intelligence service and does not use your content to train artificial-intelligence models.

7. Updates and Microsoft Store Services

Vistora receives application updates through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft may process information independently when you access the Store, acquire Vistora, receive updates, or make a Store transaction. Those activities are governed by Microsoft’s own terms and privacy statement. Vistora does not receive your payment-card details from Microsoft.

8. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Project files, exports, proxies, caches, settings, and other locally generated data remain on your device until you delete them, clear them through an available Vistora control, or remove them using Windows or your file system. Vistora does not set a server-side retention period because it does not store this information on Vistora-operated servers.

Uninstalling Vistora may not delete projects, exported media, or files saved outside the application installation area. Review and delete those files manually if you no longer want to retain them.

9. Security

Vistora is designed to minimise data exposure by processing user content locally. You remain responsible for protecting your Windows account, device, backups, project folders, and exported media. No method of software operation or local storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Third-Party Software

Vistora incorporates third-party and open-source software components that provide functions such as media decoding, encoding, speech processing, noise reduction, computer vision, and interface rendering. These components are packaged for local operation in the release covered by this policy. Applicable licence notices are provided with Vistora or through its legal notices.

11. Children’s Privacy

Vistora is a general-purpose creative tool and is not directed specifically at children under 13. Vistora does not require an account and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of device recording and file-sharing features.

12. Your Data-Protection Rights

Because Vistora does not hold a server-side copy of your project content or application usage data, you normally exercise access, correction, portability, and deletion directly through your device and file system. You may contact the controller at thestreamic@gmail.com with a privacy question or rights request.

Where applicable, you may also lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority. Identity verification may be required before responding to a request involving personal information.

13. International Transfers and Automated Decisions

Vistora does not transfer your project media or application usage data internationally because the application does not transmit that information to Vistora-operated servers. Vistora does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about users through automated processing.

14. Changes to This Policy

This policy will be updated before a Vistora release introduces materially different data practices, such as accounts, cloud storage, collaboration, remote artificial-intelligence processing, independent analytics, or remote crash reporting. The revised policy will show a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be described in the Microsoft Store release notes or within the application.
