Everything you need to run Vistora

Setup, project workflow, keyboard shortcuts and troubleshooting for the 0.9.0 Beta.

Getting started

Download the latest Windows build from the download page, run the installer, then launch Vistora. On first run you can create a new project or open a recent one from the Project intelligence screen.

System requirements

ComponentMinimum
OSWindows 10/11, 64-bit
CPU4-core, e.g. Intel Core i5
RAM8 GB (16 GB recommended)
GPUNot required — Vistora runs on CPU-only hardware
Storage2 GB free, plus space for proxies

Projects & files

Vistora saves projects as portable .vistora.json files. Autosave activates after your first manual save. Media is referenced, not copied — keep source files in place, or use Smart Relink if you move them.

Vertical reframe

Select a clip on Program, open the reframe panel, and drag the live 9:16 guide. Enable manual reframe to keyframe the crop position across a move — the reframe is stored with the clip, so no duplicate vertical sequence is needed.

Script Studio

Transcribe a clip, then click any line to jump to that timecode. Select lines to Mark I/O or make a subclip, and export or import .srt at any point.

AI Dialogue Studio

Mark a quiet, noise-only section of a clip for best results, then choose Enhance Voice. Compare Original and Enhanced playback before committing, and pick a Social, Podcast or Broadcast output target on export.

Keyboard shortcuts

Export presets

20 named delivery presets are built in across Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram Reels, with correct BT.709 metadata for standard delivery.

Troubleshooting

Most playback stutter is resolved by generating proxies for 4K source media. If a project won't open, confirm the .vistora.json file wasn't edited outside Vistora. For anything else, contact support or file an issue on GitHub.

Frequently asked questions

Does Vistora upload my video to the cloud?
No. Vistora processes video, audio and AI dialogue enhancement locally on your device during normal editing, reframing and export.

Do I need a GPU to run Vistora?
No. Vistora is designed to run on CPU-only hardware, including laptops without a discrete graphics card.

How do I reframe 16:9 footage to 9:16 for social media?
Open the clip on the Program monitor, enable the live 9:16 guide, and drag it to choose the crop. The reframe can be keyframed and previews instantly without creating a duplicate timeline.

Is Vistora free to use?
Yes, Vistora is free to download and use during its public beta.
